The more weight I need to lose, the more intense my exercise program should be.

While having an intense workout routine is great, there are a few things to keep in mind. The first is that everyone is at a different level of fitness and can handle different levels of intensity. If you have been physically inactive for a long time, a vigorous workout for you could be walking half a mile every day. After walking that half-mile, you will notice that you are sweating profusely.
And are exhausted. Walking half a mile without breaking a sweat is possible for someone who has been physically active for many years. Everyone has their own interpretation of "intense."
If working out for an hour a day is intense for you, but you only have time for 20 minutes a day due to your busy schedule, those 20 minutes will go a long way. Although it may not be considered "intense" by your definition. Those brief bursts of cardio will have a positive impact on your health.

You can imagine and visualize the ball staying afloat in the air while sitting on your couch, but natural laws dictate that it will fall. The same can be said about our weight.
This is one of the most widely held weight-loss myths. If your diet consists primarily of twinkies, chips, and donuts, it is illogical to expect your health and weight to be in balance. Sure, you can burn it off by exercising, but most people whose diet consists primarily of junk food are unlikely to maintain a workout routine. I do know a few people who appear to be in good shape on the outside because they are not "fat," but have high cholesterol.
I'd say this just because I'm sorry for breaking the hearts of so many twinkie fans out there. You can eat junk food, cookies, chips, ice cream, pizza, burgers, and all those other "soul-satisfying foods" in moderation. Excess is never a good thing.

It is possible to lose weight by skipping meals.

Numerous studies have shown that people who skip breakfast and eat fewer meals throughout the day are significantly heavier than those who eat a nutritious breakfast and then eat 4-6 small meals throughout the day. The reason for this could be that they become more hungry later in the day and have a tendency to overeat at other times of the day.

I'm not going to lose weight if I eat late at night.
The truth about weight loss:
You can overeat during the day and not eat anything at night and still gain weight. It's also true that you can go without food during the day and eat all night and still gain weight. The key is to maintain a sense of equilibrium. If your body is indicating that it is hungry, you should pay attention to it. The truth is that no matter what time of day you eat if you eat too much and don't exercise, you will gain weight. I try to choose something natural in nature whenever I am hungry at night, as I do with other meals during the day. Something like fruits and vegetables, or perhaps a fruit smoothie.
When I have a strong desire for ice cream or something sweet, I allow myself to indulge without feeling guilty. Many obese people are plagued by feelings of guilt. And shame. BUT ONLY IN MODERATION DO I ALLOW MYSELF TO GET SOME.

I won't be considered acceptable until. I lose weight.

If someone doesn't feel acceptable because they are overweight, it's because they aren't acceptable to themselves in the first place. Your perception of yourself determines how others perceive you. I truly believe that emotional fitness comes first, followed by physical fitness. I've experienced these self-sabotaging feelings before.
It made all the difference for me when I realized that I was ALREADY ENOUGH in God's eyes and that I didn't need to prove myself to anyone or seek external validation for my self-worth. You will no longer feel unaccepted because of your weight once you accept yourself as you are RIGHT NOW and realize that you are already enough in God's eyes.

To lose weight faster, I need to reduce my calorie intake.

If you're constantly overeating and stuffing your face, cutting calories might be a good idea. Cutting calories, on the other hand, may have a negative effect if you are eating proportionally. If you restrict calories and starve your body. Your metabolism will be slowed. Which may result in you not losing any weight at all, even if you are "cutting calories."

I'm hoping to lose weight by skipping meals.
The truth about Weight Loss:
Skipping meals can actually lead to weight gain! You will eventually become too hungry and will have to eat. This will throw your metabolism off and eventually cause it to slow down. Consider a car that has run out of gas (food); if you do not fill it up, it will eventually break down. The same is true for our bodies; we must constantly fuel them.
Weight Loss Myth # 9
I believe I have a genetic predisposition to weight gain; it runs in my family!
E-X-C-U-S-E-S, anyone? I won't deny that heavy parents are more likely to raise heavy children who will remain heavy throughout their lives, but I don't believe there is a "fat" gene or DNA out there. Our views and beliefs are passed down from our families. Especially those who raised us directly. How you have raised influences your views on food, money, religion, politics, education, and other topics. If you were raised in a household where fried foods were the mainstay.
You may have a tendency to cook and eat fried foods for the rest of your life. If that's the case, you might be carrying a little extra weight around your waist. It's easy to point the finger at those who were in charge of your upbringing, but you ALWAYS have the option to change.

It's too difficult to eat healthily.
The truth about Weight Loss:
When you've trained yourself to eat healthily, it's the simplest thing in the world. How many times have you set a goal to "eat better" or "lose weight"? You're doing great the first few days, eating all kinds of foods you wouldn't normally eat.
Then something strange happened: you resumed your old habits and behaviors. This has occurred to you in areas other than your health. It could be in your finances, job search, or personal relationships. Because our brains dislike change, developing a new habit takes time. It is dangerous to make changes to the brain. Anyway. To lose weight, you must give up your favorite foods.
The truth about Weight Loss:
Can you imagine a world without chocolate and pepperoni pizza? I believe it would be torture to live in such a world!! On a serious note, I completely disagree with this legend. You will most certainly be able to eat your favorite foods. It's not fun to deprive yourself of this kind of pleasure, and you'll probably eat it anyway. The real key, as previously stated, is moderation.
If you enjoy steak, it may not be the best idea to eat it every day, but once or twice a week. Those who know me personally know how much I enjoy pizza with chicken wings. In an ideal world.
Where I didn't gain any weight and my arteries weren't clogged. I'd eat it several times a week, if not every day. However, I am aware that those aren't the healthiest of foods, so I only eat it once or twice a month. I'm not giving up my favorite foods; I'm just eating them in moderation so that they don't catch up with me and cause me to gain weight.

Hunger is the cause of overeating.

You made a good effort there. If only we could blame it on "hunger." In fact, this "hunger" person has nothing to do with your OVEREATING. It could be your body's way of telling you that it's time to "fuel up" and that you're hungry, but this isn't a sign that you should eat too much. Various factors contribute to many people's overeating. Feelings of stress, depression, loneliness, anxiety, fear, and other negative emotions are among the most common.
Many times, food can be used to meet your needs. It's possible that your food is actually meeting your needs. For example, if you live a lonely life and aren't very happy, food may be a way for you to feel happier and more at ease. I've written other articles on the subject, but suffice it to say that being hungry is not the cause of overeating.

Only extreme diets work.

There's that word again…DIET….those "extreme diets" are only good for quick weight loss and rapid weight gain once you're done with them. These extreme diets include everything from the "cookie diet" to "the water only diet" I am sure you can lose weight on these DIETS. But the weight will be gained back quickly. Usually with some extra weight as a bonus.

I'm far too fat and far down the road to even start.

A long journey begins with a single step. It's natural to expect immediate results and even to be afraid of the road ahead, especially if you're severely overweight. The key is to make SMALL, STEP-BY-STEP CHANGES. Expect nothing less than perfection. Or you will be disappointed. You're never too far down the road to lose sight of the sun's rays……

I can't do it; I've tried numerous times and failed.
The truth about Weight Loss:
"Whether you think you can, or you think you can't- you're right."……90% It's a mindset, and 10% actually getting off your arse and doing something about it, as Henry Ford once said. You fall down, but you get up again….
You fall down, and then you get back up. If you've tried and failed to lose weight in the past, now is the time to try again. Discouragement is to weight loss what a piece of fried chicken is to a vegetarian…..they don't mix.
